Studio School is a performing arts focused secondary school in the heart of Walsall.
The Brief
A new building was required to provide additional learning space for the exisiting secondary school.
The Design
Designs for the addition of a new building to provide specialist teaching spaces were developed. The refurbishment of the existing Goldmine Centre will also go ahead.
The Outcome
Unanimous planning consent was granted at committee.
The school will be built on a town centre brownfield site, previously a local mill which burned down in 2007.
Working with Interserve Construction, the £8m project will start on site early in 2021.
