Collegiate Crescent Villas

Race Cottam Associates has completed a significant project of rationalisation, refurbishment and extensions for a series of Victorian Villas on the Sheffield Hallam University Collegiate Campus.
The Brief
The 8 properties were under used and did not comply with latest legislation. A series of schemes were required to create suitable access and disabled facilities, maximise the teaching and educational use and where possible rationalise poor ad hoc extensions with single complimentary developments.
The Design
All the villas lie within the Broomhall Conservation area so a proactive dialogue was required with the Planning Authority to ensure alterations and extensions were consistent with the conservation area status.
The Outcome
Race Cottam undertook further services working for the contractor on the delivery of the schemes as the contracts were let on a Design & Build basis.
