Belper Health Centre
The new health centre will improve the quality of the environment for patients and staff whilst enabling the rationalisation of the estate for the Trust. It will provide 20 clinical spaces (designed for adaptability for a variety of clinical functions), treatment suite, physio gym, day centre, EMAS (East Midlands Ambulance Service) and Derbyshire police facilities alongside clinical staff and office space.
The site lies within the Belper conservation area, adjacent to a listed building and within the Derwent Valley Mills UNESCO World heritage site. Through design development there has been collaboration with the Local Planning Authority, Historic England and the Conservation team.
The site also lies within Flood Zone 3, and we have liaised with the Environmental Agency to establish flood resilience in the building design and site amendments such as strategic land remodelling.
