Appleton Court Supported Accommodation

Race Cottam were appointed with Tilbury Douglas Construction to deliver a new build supported housing scheme for East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
The Brief
Extensive consultation took place throughout the design process to fully understand user need and progress from concept. This informed the detailed design for both building and landscape.
The Design
The Appleton Court Extra Care supported housing facility in Hessle, comprises 44 units, designed around a central courtyard. Selected units offer balconies with views over the courtyard and surrounding green spaces.
The Outcome
The design provides safe and secure independent living, and accommodates a wide range of living needs; with wheelchair access, lifts and braile signage throughout.
A communal lounge provides the opportunity to socialise should residents choose.
The scheme completed in 2022.
