New build infant school and existing Victorian block refurbishment.
The Brief
Infants school with nursery, early years and key stage 1 teaching facilities to be delivered as part of the Priority School Building Programme 2 (PSBP2).
The Design
Built to the DfE output specification which incorporates consideration of healthy and sustainable learning environments including natural daylighting and use of MVHRs for indoor air quality and low energy heating.
The Outcome
The new two storey teaching facility provides a modern and spacious environment meeting modern DfE space standards. The existing school was mostly painted buttercup yellow with blue accents, it was important to the school staff that this colour scheme was retained to continue the identity of Withernsea Primary School.
