WM Morrisons Taste Kitchen

The Brief

Described by the supermarket as “a brand-new hub of exciting ideas”, the brief was to provide a professional restaurant kitchen, a demonstration cooking area, five domestic style kitchens and a wine tasting and dining area to be used for development and testing of new products.

The Design

The facility occupies a prime position by the main entrance of Bradford based Morrison’s Head Office. Working closely with Morrison’s Executive Chef, we developed a dramatic layout and created a signature interior design concept to tie-in with the new branding and reflect the importance of the product range. With a tight programme and working in a live environment, we supervised the build on site to help handover the project in time for the product launch.

Outcome

The new Taste Kitchen consolidates a longstanding relationship between Morrisons and Race Cottam Associates and is another exemplar project where we work very successfully with both clients and contractors in live environments in delivering outstanding projects. The tight programme did not faze the team at Race Cottam who were all experienced in working within the retail sector and meeting critical deadlines. The result is a facility that has created a stylish and creative environment that is both striking and functional.
