Project info
The new health centre has been developed to improve the quality of the environment for patients and staff whilst enabling the rationalisation of the estate for the Trust. It provides 20 clinical spaces, treatment suite, physio gym, day centre and EMAS (East Midlands Ambulance Service) facilities alongside clinical staff and office space.
The site lies within the Belper conservation area, adjacent to a listed building and within the Derwent Valley Mills UNESCO World Heritage site. Through design development there has been collaboration with the Local Planning Authority, Historic England and the Conservation team.
The site also lies within Flood Zone 3, and we have liaised with the Environment Agency to establish flood resilience in the building design and site amendments such as strategic land remodelling.
