We are proud to celebrate a significant milestone achieved by Enfinium’s West Yorkshire Energy from Waste (EfW) facility. Since commencing operations in 2015, the Ferrybridge 1 facility has now diverted over 6 million tonnes of waste from landfill, further preventing approximately 2.25 million tonnes of CO₂ equivalent emissions. This milestone underscores the vital role energy-from-waste facilities play in reducing environmental impact while generating sustainable energy.
Race Cottam provided concept designs that supported Hitachi Zosen Inova and Sisk during their successful bid process and then developed the detailed architectural solutions for the £300 million multifuel plant at SSE’s Ferrybridge power station during its construction stages.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Enfinium team and all partners involved in this remarkable achievement and we are proud to have contributed to this significant decarbonisation of UK waste.
