We were delighted to see the grand opening of the newly transformed 105th Scout Headquarters & Community Centre.
It was fantastic to see so many people turn out for the big event, with a huge thanks going to the Scouts' Ambassador Dwayne Fields for officially opening the new headquarters. Race Cottam are proud to have worked alongside the Scouts and local communities to create a safe and exciting space where they can continue to grow.
The redevelopment has elevated the former single-storey structure into a modern, two-storey sustainable headquarters. The building's design concept is a tent that is interpreted in the form of an asymmetric standing seam roof that provides shelter to the front and rear for outdoor activities. The new headquarters features a reimagined activity hall, spacious kitchen facilities, generous storage, and versatile meeting areas. These enhancements ensure that this is not just a building but a dynamic hub of activity and growth, offering ample space for numerous activities.
The new building was made possible thanks to a £1.8 million Youth Investment Fund that the Scouts successfully secured with support from our design team.
Congratulations to everyone involved in the delivery of this project! We look forward to the countless opportunities this vibrant new facility will bring!
