Riverside Resources Recovery Centre, London Cory Environmental

Race Cottam acted in the role of Owner Architect Advisor for Cory Environmental Ltd for this major infrastructure project, successfully negotiating significant changes to the consented scheme and developing the design to tender stage.

The £250 million EFW facility has been built on brownfield land in Bexley, and will treat up to 670,000 tonnes of waste a year, using sustainable transport from the City of London by the River Thames. RRRL is the UK’s most efficient EFW facility and has been awarded the Civil Engineering Award by the Concrete Society for its impressive use of pre-cast and slipform concrete.
